Why Saturday

SaPorn is a quiet, slightly nostalgic chat site for grown-ups who miss ordinary Saturdays. It runs on one made-up day and sixteen invented women, each of whom is an AI character.

The idea

Most days are about getting through the list. Saturday is about what you do when nobody has made one. We thought the most honest way to write company was to fix it to the clock: a woman who is at the market at eight, a woman behind a hardware counter at eleven, a woman with a whistle under the floodlights at eight in the evening. Pick an hour and she is already there, in the middle of her own errand, glad enough to see you.

About the name

Sa is short for Saturday and for nothing else, and we never use it as an abbreviation of anything. The address makes more noise than the product does. What is behind it is a chat, with the story kept to flirting and affection.

Lines we do not cross

• We do not let a character stand in for a living person, or a living person for a character.
• We do not write anyone under 18 into any hour of the day, for any reason.
• We do not sell what you type or show it to anyone who advertises.
• We do not arrange anything outside the chat. There is nobody to arrange it with.
